KATHMANDU, 7 May

Yamaha Racemandu, one of the most exciting motorcycle racing competitions in Nepal has concluded on Saturday. Organized under the sponsorship of Yamaha R3 motorcycle, a total of 90 people participated in the competition.

The event was conducted under three categories. Under the National category Bibesh Shrestha stood first while Pratyush Kuikel and Nikhil Thakuri came in second and third. Likewise, under the Novice category group ‘A’, Ashik Lama, Jebak Tuladhar and Roshan Ranamagar stood first, second and third respectively.

Similarly, under the Novice category group ‘B’ Binod Kathayat bagged the first prize while Suvash Shrestha and Nikhil Thakuri stood second and third. In the contest, first prize winner got 30 thousand rupees along with trophy, medal and certificate. While second and third prize winner got 20 thousand and ten thousand rupees respectively. Winners were awarded by Karna Bahadur Thapa, Ex-Minister of Industries, Dashrath Risal, NASA Chairman, MeghRaj Poudel, Treasurer of Federation of Mountain Sports and Deepak Raj Giri, AGM, Yamaha.

In the Novice category A, the riders were allowed bikes with 198 cc engine while in category B, the racers rode bikes with 199 to 250 cc. In national category riders rode Yamaha R15. This is fifth edition of Racemandu. The winners of this edition will be provided to race in international tournaments as well.

R3 is 321 cc racing bike which is celebrating popularity among Nepalese young riders. Similarly, R15, the one which introduced racing culture in Nepal, has its design and engine adopted from the racing beast R1. It is tremendously popular among youngsters with racing instinct.

FZ-FI series and R15 are equipped with Fuel Injection (FI) technology that not only enhances the performance of motorcycle but also lessens the fuel consumption, thus increasing the mileage.
