MAW Enterprises, the sole distributors of Yamaha motorbikes in Nepal, has organised one-day workshop on road safety science on Tuesday at Thapathali Engineering Campus, Kathmandu.
In the CSR initiative called ‘Yamaha Safe Riding Science’ (YSRS), the experts from Yamaha gave orientation on safe riding to over two hundred engineering students. YSRS is a global CSR initiative taken by Yamaha. It has been very much successful in India & other South Asian Countries.
The future engineers were taught about the causes of accident, ways to avoid them, precautions to be taken while riding, scientific evaluation of critical traffic conditions, proper riding posture, and tips on braking and most importantly the significance of traffic rules.
‘The event is very much fruitful to us. There are many small things that we have been ignoring,’ Bishnu Parajuli, President, Society of Industrial Engineering Students, said, ‘It was small but informative program.’
The workshop was followed with a practical driving session. More than two hundred engineering students have participated in test ride. MAW has been organising YSRS event in regular basis specifically focussing the young people as they are more vulnerable to road accidents.
As a global consumer brand, Yamaha has always undertaken initiatives to increase ride-safety among its consumers as well the mass. Likewise, its products also reflect this strategy to make roads safer for all.
