Since carburetors are mechanical in nature, carburetors are easily affected by the climate, so a more effective system was desired. With concern for the environment also growing, this presented a greater need for a system that would put out fewer emissions and deliver both better fuel efficiency and power.
Fuel Injected (FI) engines are leading in the technology front and have replaced the carburetor engines in bikes and scooters, making the use of carburetors almost obsolete.
The atomized fueling process in an FI engine makes fuel burn better, which makes it have the following advantages over other archaic engines:
- FI engines are easy to start and accelerate in any weather condition.
- The FI technology makes the vehicle more fuel-efficient with 14% more mileage than the Carburetor version.
- FI engines also have a quick throttle response as compared to other engines
- The consistent fuel delivery also makes this technology a much sought-after engine.
- A smaller performance gap at high elevations and fewer emissions with better engine life.
- More efficient burning of fuel results in a cleaner environment.
Yamaha Nepal has been holding the legacy of being one of the earliest introducers of FI technology which has been mastered by Yamaha a decade ago with proven technology.
Whilst starting with models like R15 and FZS FI for motorcycles we’ve gradually moved onto Fascino 125FI and Ray ZR 125FI for scooters.
