The term “Expert” might sound slippery when most of the brands, today, have shifted their bikes/scooters to FI (Fuel Injection) technology but, decades ago when Yamaha introduced its first-ever FZ FI in the market the scene was a whole lot different. And, the market dynamics that we have today is largely set by Yamaha.
When the Bharat Stage iii norms were introduced (2008) for the two and three-wheelers, most of the two-wheeler manufacturers were still struggling and clinging onto carburetors trying to refine it. The manufacturers knew that fuel injection technology was the right move to meet the bar of BS compliant but deep inside they feared that they might still not be able to adapt the technology due to the high gum content in petrol and the technology was also costly in contrast to carburetors. This was only the result of insufficient research and deviating mindset.
But Yamaha was firm and persistent in defying the culture of carburetors because the future Yamaha envisioned from its very first days was to provide the low emission and high performance. Another reason for Yamaha was to persistently promote the benefits of the FI engine was its concern for the environment over cost-saving, the responsibilities as a leading distributor to invest for a better future.
Despite the majority of its contemporary distributors were still introducing non-emphatic carbureted bikes/scooters in the Nepalese market why did Yamaha make this switch so early?
Today, when one goes to buy a bike/scooter, first thing the seller briefs is “its BSVI compliant with FI technology”. Rather than hearing first and learning later let us spend a few more lines to understand the basic rudiments of FI technology and its benefits to the bike and environment.
To come to its existence we need to take a little detour of Bharat Standard norms. Back in 2008 Government of India implemented the emission standards known as Bharat Standard norms (BS) with concern for the environment. Bharat Standard is based on European Emission Standards that regulate the output of air pollutants from vehicles along with certain safety standards. But BS norms wouldn’t meet alone the bars for which the manufacturers were bidding for low emission and high performance. But still, the major figure completing brick was missing. It was the FI technology.
Yamaha Nepal is not only pioneers of FI technology but it also promoted this future –gen technology like no other automobile company did. To ensure that its customers receive the best after-sale service/maintenance, today Yamaha Nepal also has the largest number of FI stations. It has FI stations in all its dealers all over Nepal. Yamaha Nepal believes the ‘Hi-tech FI system requires Hi-tech maintenance thus, Yamaha came up with a unique idea by introducing FI stations in all its dealerships all over Nepal. The stations are well equipped with Fuel Cleaner and Yamaha Diagnostic Tool to maintain FI and ABS
Facilities:
The Accomplished Technicians in FI technology
Because FI is an advanced technology its Maintenance requires the right tool and technician. To ensure this Yamaha Nepal has the most accomplished tool and technicians. Only a well-trained technician can decipher and communicate the technical language of FI.

Yamaha Diagnostic Tool (YDT): The Right Tool
Yamaha Diagnostic Tool is an electronic diagnosis tool that connects a vehicle ECU with a PC to check the performance of FI & ABS components. It plays a vital role in vehicle health checkups & proper diagnosis of the Vehicle. With the help of Yamaha Diagnostic Tool, Health Card generation, FI diagnosis and ABS diagnosis can be done. Yamaha Diagnostic Tool comes up with various benefits:
- FI system health report
- Instant troubleshooting
- Accurate and Easy Diagnosis
- Avoid Repeat Repair
FI Station services:
Free Health card generation
A Health card is the summary of the performance and health of the FI system components. It immediately displays a health report on the computer screen. A vehicle’s health card is similar to the medical health report given by the doctor. This vehicle health card is printable and after each service, its copy is shared free of cost.
Fuel Injector Cleaner
Fuel Injectors can get clogged due to adulterated fuel or missing the recommended periodic service. This results in poor riding performance and poor mileage. The fuel injector cleaner cleans the clogged injector so effectively that it performs like a new injector. After the injector cleaning, you can feel the visible improvements in the performance and mileage of your vehicle.
In a nutshell, today, many other two-wheeler manufacturers have shifted to FI technology
But no other provides FI service Support like Yamaha Nepal does.
