A motorcycle safety demonstration taking place in front of an attentive group of students and faculty, as a rider weaves through a course of orange traffic cones.

Kathmandu, 25 Shrawan- MAW Enterprises, the sole distributors of Yamaha motorbikes in Nepal, has conducted a workshop on road safety on Tuesday in Universal College, Maitidevi, Kathmandu. As a part of corporate social responsibility, MAW has been organising such program in colleges and public places.

Because of age factor, college students are most vulnerable to the road accidents. Keeping this fact in mind Yamaha wing of MAW has been conducting awareness initiative targeting the youngsters.

On Tuesday’s workshop over one hundred students were taught about the causes of accident, ways to avoid them, precautions to be taken while riding, scientific evaluation of critical traffic conditions, proper riding posture, and tips on braking and most importantly the significance of traffic rules. In the event, an orientation was conducted to the beginners as well. Similarly, 42 students participated in test ride.

‘The participant students got knowledge about smallest things that are generally ignored. These are, in fact, most important things for the safety,’ Saurav Regmi, Program Coordinator (BBA/BBS) said, ‘The initiative of Yamaha is praiseworthy and fruitful. We hope MAW will continue this very well program in future as well.’

IYSRS is a CSR initiative taken by Yamaha worldwide being conducted successfully in Japan, India & many other South Asian Countries.
